Hire through MagodoPlus

Find the people your business needs

Post a vacancy on MagodoPlus and reach people who are already looking for work in Lagos. Every vacancy is read by an administrator before it appears, so what goes on the board has been looked at by a person. Applications arrive in your dashboard with a CV attached, and a CV is only ever opened by three people: the candidate who sent it, you, and a member of staff who handles vacancies — and every staff opening is written to the audit log.

Already a MagodoPlus vendor?

Already selling on MagodoPlus? You do not need another account

If your business is already on MagodoPlus, you recruit from the same account you already sign in to. Switch on the employer capability once and a Jobs and Recruitment section appears in your dashboard, beside your listings. No second account, no second business profile, and nothing you have built up is affected. Your listings stay where they are, your package stays as it is, and your account type does not change. Turning recruitment on adds a capability to the account you already have. You can turn it off again later, and your vacancies, applications and records are kept rather than deleted.

What carries across

  • Your business name, category and area — shown back to you before you activate, and never asked for again.
  • Your business phone and email, prefilled as the recruitment contact and editable if you would rather use a different line.
  • Your verification, if you have it — it carries across, you do not apply for it a second time, and activating recruitment does not add anything to what was checked.
  • Your existing sign-in: one email, one password, one dashboard, with recruitment sitting alongside your listings.
  • Your package and your marketplace standing, both untouched — activating recruitment changes neither.

Why recruit on MagodoPlus?

Seen by people already looking

Your vacancy sits on the public jobs board, where people searching for work in Lagos are already reading. It appears once an administrator has approved it, and it leaves the board on its own when the closing date passes.

Applications that are actually applications

An application on MagodoPlus is a real record: a name, an email, an optional phone number, an optional message and a CV, stored against your vacancy. You may also publish your own email, website, WhatsApp or phone as extra routes, but those go straight to you and never appear in your MagodoPlus applications.

An account behind every application

Nobody can apply without signing in, and one person can send one application per vacancy — enforced by a unique index in the database, not just by a message on screen. Applying is rate-limited against the account as well, so nobody can bury your list. That does not tell you who somebody is. Read the CV, read the message and interview as you would anywhere else. What it does mean is that every application is attached to an account we can act on if it is abused.

A record you keep

You mark each application Submitted, Reviewed, Shortlisted or Not taken forward, and that record is yours. Applications you have not opened are badged New and sorted to the top, and an application only counts as seen when you actually open it.

Checked before it is published, and watched after

An administrator reads every vacancy before it goes live, and rejections always come with a written reason you can act on. Anyone can report a vacancy at /report, staff work through those reports, and an account that breaks the rules can have its ability to recruit suspended.

How recruitment works

  1. 1

    1. Get an account that can recruit

Already a business on MagodoPlus? Activate the employer capability from your dashboard — four short questions and the terms to accept, and no second account. The terms are not a formality: you are agreeing that the vacancies you post are genuine and that you will not ask applicants for money. New to MagodoPlus? Register as an employer, either a company or an individual employer, and you can start writing a vacancy straight away.

  2. 2

    2. Write the vacancy

Fill in the title, employment type, location, salary, closing date and description. Only a title, an employer name and an employment type are required, and a salary left blank simply shows nothing in its place. Your company name, category and location are prefilled from your employer profile, so you type them once.

  3. 3

    3. Save it, then send it for review

A new vacancy is always saved as a draft first, so you can leave it and come back. When you are ready, press Send for review. It needs a title, a description and an employment type before it can go, and a closing date in the past is refused because it would close the vacancy immediately.

  4. 4

    4. An administrator reads it

A person reads your vacancy before it is published. If it is approved it appears on the jobs board. If it is sent back, the reason is written on the edit form so you can correct it and send it again. Nothing in your dashboard can approve or publish a vacancy — that stays with moderation, and no employer approves their own.

  5. 5

    5. Work through the candidates

Open Applications in your dashboard to see who has applied, unopened ones first. Open one to read the message and download the CV, then mark the stage you have reached. To speak to somebody, use the email or phone on their application — MagodoPlus does not contact candidates on your behalf.

What goes on a vacancy

  • Job title, between 3 and 160 characters.
  • Employer name, up to 160 characters — prefilled from your employer profile.
  • Employment type: Full-time, Part-time, Contract, Internship or Remote.
  • Location and category, both optional, prefilled from your profile where you have set them.
  • A one-line summary of up to 300 characters, and a full description of up to 12,000.
  • A salary minimum and maximum, both optional — leave them out and nothing is shown in their place.
  • A closing date, which must be today or later.
  • Up to four optional extra routes: an email, a website, a WhatsApp number and a phone number.

How people apply

  • Apply on MagodoPlus is always on every vacancy — there is no setting that turns it off, and it is the only route that creates a record you can work from.
  • A MagodoPlus application always carries a CV: the candidate attaches one or uses the one on their job profile, and the application is refused if there is neither.
  • You may add your own email, website, WhatsApp number and phone as extras, and every one of them is optional.
  • Those extras are printed on the vacancy as plain text, and nothing is recorded when somebody uses them — no click is counted and no row is created. A click on your own email or WhatsApp is not a MagodoPlus application and will never appear as one.
  • The vacancy page tells candidates this plainly: contacting you directly sends their details to you and will not appear in their MagodoPlus applications.
  • Applications are sent from a customer account, so people apply for work from the account they browse and shop with.

Managing applications

  • Every application shows the name and email the candidate typed, their phone number if they gave one, their message, the date they applied, the stage you set, and a button to open their CV — that is the whole record.
  • Applications you have not opened are badged New and sorted to the top, and one is marked seen only when you open it, never from the list.
  • You set one of four stages: Submitted, Reviewed, Shortlisted or Not taken forward. There is a fifth, Withdrawn by candidate, that nobody can set today — not you, because marking somebody withdrawn who never withdrew would put a decision in their mouth, and not the candidate either, because there is no way to withdraw an application yet.
  • Setting a stage records your own decision and sends nothing. MagodoPlus does not contact candidates for you — to reach somebody, use the email or phone on their application.
  • You can filter the list by vacancy and by stage. There is no keyword search, no notes, no tags, no ratings, no bulk actions and no export.
  • CVs are stored on a private disk with no public link. Your access is checked afresh on every single request, and a record belonging to another employer simply does not exist as far as your dashboard is concerned. Staff who handle vacancies can open a CV through a separate, deliberate action, and every one of those openings is written to the audit log.
  • A CV must be a PDF or a Word document of 5MB or less, and the file's actual contents are checked rather than its name.
  • New applications appear in your dashboard, unopened first — nothing is emailed to you, so make a habit of opening the Applications page.
  • You can pause a published vacancy, put a paused one back, or close it. Putting a paused vacancy back is your own switch and it goes live again immediately, with no second review. You cannot delete a vacancy, and once it has closed only an administrator can move it again.
  • Editing a published vacancy sends it back for review, and it is off the board until it is approved again.
  • Applications are never deleted when a vacancy comes down. They survive pausing, closing and rejection, because they are the candidate's record as much as yours.
  • You never see a candidate's job profile — only what they chose to send you in their application.

What you can measure

  • Two totals: all applications received, and all views across your vacancies.
  • A table with a row per vacancy: views, applications, shortlisted, and the share who applied after viewing.
  • Where a vacancy has no views yet, the page says Not enough data yet rather than dividing by nothing and printing 0%.
  • The page states the date view counting began, so an older vacancy is not read as having genuinely low interest.
  • A view is one visitor per vacancy per 30 minutes. Crawlers are excluded, and you reading your own advert is never counted.
  • That is the whole of it — no charts, no week-by-week trend, no traffic sources and no information about who your candidates are.

Every vacancy is read before it is published

Nothing reaches the jobs board on its own. An administrator reads every vacancy before it is published, and that is the point of the review: a person decides, not a filter.

  • A vacancy must have a title, a description and an employment type before it can even be sent for review.
  • A vacancy whose closing date has already passed cannot be published at all.
  • A rejection always carries a written reason, and that reason is shown at the top of your edit form so you can fix it and send it again.
  • Editing a published vacancy returns it to review, so changes are read before they appear.
  • Putting a paused vacancy back is your own action and it goes live again immediately — pausing does not cost you a second review. A vacancy that has closed or been rejected is different: only an administrator can put it back, and it returns to review rather than straight to the board.
  • Moderation can flag a vacancy for a second look without changing whether it is published, so something suspect can be marked while it is checked properly.
  • Moderation looks specifically for vacancies that offer only off-platform routes and have received no MagodoPlus applications, because that is the shape a details-harvesting scam takes.
  • Anyone can report a vacancy at /report, and reported vacancies go into a queue staff work through, urgent first.
  • An administrator can suspend an account's ability to recruit without touching its marketplace side, and nothing behind it is deleted.
  • An administrator reviewing a vacancy sees how many people applied, how many you opened and how many you shortlisted — not the applications themselves. Cover notes and CVs are not loaded onto the review screen. Staff who handle vacancies can open a CV through a separate, deliberate action, and every one of those openings is written to the audit log.

Recruit responsibly

These are the rules a vacancy is measured against, and the ones a candidate is told to look for.

  • Never ask an applicant for money — not for training, an interview, a uniform or a form. Asking for a fee is one of the reasons a candidate can report a vacancy, staff read those reports, and an account that asks applicants for money can have its ability to recruit suspended.
  • Never ask a candidate for a BVN, a bank PIN or a card number. You do not need any of it to interview somebody.
  • Write the vacancy you actually have. A description that does not match the job is misleading, and misleading is one of the reasons people can report you under.
  • Give a real closing date and close the vacancy when the role is filled, so people are not applying to something that no longer exists.
  • Publish a salary if you can. A candidate can then decide before they spend time applying, and nothing is shown in its place when you leave it blank.
  • Reply to the people you shortlist. Nothing is sent to a candidate when you set a stage, so any contact has to come from you.
  • Treat a CV as somebody's personal information. Open it for hiring and nothing else, and do not pass it on.

Nothing in MagodoPlus charges you to post a vacancy today. There is no per-vacancy fee, no package requirement and no limit on how many vacancies you may have open — the recruitment side sits outside all of that. We are not going to promise it will be free forever. If that changes, it will be written plainly on this page before it applies to anybody, not slipped in quietly.

Questions employers ask

I already have a business on MagodoPlus. Do I need a second account to recruit?

No. You recruit from the account you already have. Activate the employer capability once from your dashboard and a Jobs and Recruitment section appears beside your listings. No second account, no second business profile, and your listings, package and account type are untouched.

What does activating recruitment actually change?

It adds recruitment to your existing account and nothing else. It does not verify your business, it does not change your package, it does not change how applicants apply, and it does not let you approve your own vacancies — an administrator still reads every one. You can switch it off again, and your vacancies and applications are kept rather than deleted.

Does posting a job mean my business is verified?

No. Publishing a vacancy means an administrator read that vacancy and approved it. It says nothing about whether your business has been verified. Verification is a separate thing for businesses, and it is three human document reviews: an identity document reviewed, a CAC registration reviewed and a physical location reviewed. We do not query any government database.

How long does review take?

We do not publish a time, because there is no target we could honestly hold ourselves to. A person reads your vacancy before it appears. Check your Jobs page in the dashboard — if it was sent back, the reason is written at the top of the edit form.

Will I be emailed when somebody applies?

No. There is no email or alert when an application arrives, so please do not wait for one. New applications appear on your Applications page with unopened ones at the top. The same is true of approvals and rejections: you find out by opening your dashboard.

Can I browse candidates or search CVs?

No. There is no candidate database, no CV search and no talent pool. You receive applications to your own vacancies and nothing else. You also never see a candidate's job profile — only what they chose to send you.

Does the candidate know what stage I marked them at?

Nothing is sent to them: no email, no alert, and MagodoPlus never contacts a candidate on your behalf. But a candidate who signs in and opens their own applications page can see the stage on it. If you want to tell somebody something, use the email or phone on their application. And remember an application is not an offer — deciding a stage decides nothing for the candidate until you speak to them.

Can I delete a vacancy or reopen a closed one?

You can pause a published vacancy and put it back yourself, and it goes straight back on the board when you do. You can also close it when you are done. There is no delete, and once a vacancy has closed you cannot put it back yourself — only an administrator can move it, and it returns to review rather than straight to the board. Posting a fresh vacancy is usually the quicker route.

What happens to applications when a vacancy comes down?

They stay. Pausing, closing or rejecting a vacancy never deletes the applications behind it, and you keep access to them and to the CVs. The candidate keeps their side too — the vacancy, the date they applied and the stage you set stay on their applications page.

Somebody is posting fake vacancies. What can I do?

Report it at /report and choose a job advert, or open a ticket at /support and choose Reporting something. Reports go into a queue that staff work through, urgent ones first. We cannot promise a particular outcome on any single report, but a vacancy can be taken down, an account's ability to recruit can be suspended, and every decision is recorded.
