Verification
A verified badge on MagodoPlus means somebody here checked a specific thing about a business and confirmed it. It always names the thing. Nobody gets a badge for paying, and nobody gets one for asking.
They are reviewed separately, recorded separately, and named separately. A business may have one without the others.
This is a person
Somebody here read a NIN slip or an international passport and confirmed the name and number on it match what the person told us.
A document review by a person, not a government lookup. MagodoPlus does not connect to NIMC or the immigration service, so a profile says “identity document reviewed” and never “NIN verified”.

This is a registered company
The business gave us its registration number and we looked it up, to confirm the company exists and the name on the register matches the name on the profile.
A company existing on paper says nothing about where it works or how it treats customers.

Businesses registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission.
There is somewhere to find them
We confirmed the business trades from the address it gave — that there is a real place, and that it is theirs.
Businesses move. This is why an approval has an end date rather than standing forever.

Businesses working from a place customers can find.
A registered company at an address somebody has been to has shown you more than a reviewed ID alone. All three are real checks and none of them is decoration — but they answer different questions, and pretending otherwise would let the narrowest one speak for the strongest.
This is why a profile names the check rather than giving everybody the same word. A business whose CAC we confirmed but whose premises we have not visited is described exactly that way — never as simply “verified”.

CAC registration and physical location
A company that exists on the register, working from a place somebody confirmed. Both of those can be checked again later, and both are hard to fake.

Identity document on its own
A named person stands behind the business. Plenty of good tradespeople have no company and no shop, and this is how they show they are real.
Applying is free, and it is free on every package including the free one. Paying for a package, an advertising placement or a featured position does not verify a business, speed up its review, or make approval more likely. These are separate systems and one cannot reach the other.
Verified
Somebody reviewed something and recorded what they found. Free, and decided on its own merits.
Sponsored and Featured
A business paid for visibility, and the listing says so on its face. Neither word is a statement about whether the business is genuine.
A badge readers over-trust is worse than no badge at all, so the limits are printed on the same page as the claim rather than in a policy nobody opens.
It is not a guarantee of quality
It confirms who somebody is, not how good they are, what they charge, or how any particular job will go. Read the reviews, ask questions, and treat a badge as one piece of information rather than the whole answer.
It has an end date
A business we confirmed two years ago may have moved or closed, so approvals run out and have to be renewed. When one lapses the badge comes off automatically — an expired review never keeps displaying as a current one.
It only covers what it names
A confirmed CAC number says nothing about premises. A reviewed ID says nothing about either. The profile tells you which check was done, and that is the extent of it.
If something about a verified business is wrong, tell us. We suspend a badge while we look into it. Report a business.
You do not need a registered company, and you do not need a shop. If you work from home or travel to customers, ask for the identity check on its own — it exists for exactly that. Your home address is never published: we need it to confirm who you are, and only the reviewer sees it.
Finish your profile
A reviewer checks your business against what is on your profile, so it has to be complete before you can apply. There is no fee at any point.
Choose your checks
Ask for the identity check, the CAC check, the location check, or any combination. You are only asked for the details the checks you chose actually need.
Attach your evidence
A NIN slip or passport, a CAC certificate, a photograph of your premises, a utility bill or tenancy document. Files are stored privately, seen only by the staff reviewing them, and never shown on your profile.
We review it
A reviewer may come back with a question before deciding. If your application is refused you are told why, and you can apply again once it is sorted out.
